Adding an Account
When FundOS opens after locale setup, you will see the main screen: three columns for Accounts, Funds, and Budgets. Everything in FundOS lives in one of these three columns. Right now they are all empty.

Creating an Account
Click the + button in the Accounts column header. A dialog will appear asking for a name. Alex types Checking and confirms.

The account appears in the list with a balance of $0.00. Balances of zero and above are shown in green; negative balances are shown in red.

Click the arrow icon to open its transaction history. It is empty for now — Alex will add the first transaction on the next page.

To rename an account, click the pencil icon next to the account name in the transaction history view, type the new name, and press Enter to confirm or Escape to cancel.
A Note on Accounts
An account in FundOS represents a real-world account — a checking account, a credit card, a savings account. Alex will add a Credit Card and a Savings account later in the guide as they become relevant. There is no need to add every account upfront.
Accounts can also be created during OFX import, when FundOS links a bank-reported account number to an account in your database. That process is covered in Importing a Bank Statement.
